Aimed at SENDCOs, but useful for any teacher of pupils with SEND, this evidence-based half-day session is informed by the HMI research reviews and current curriculum thinking in English, mathematics and science.

 

This session covers:

  • the features of an inclusive, knowledge-rich, well-sequenced curriculum for all

  • statutory guidance about curriculum provision

  • identifying the crucial knowledge and non-negotiables

  • supporting pupils with SEND to make the best possible progress

  • reducing the need for intervention

  • what effective adaptive teaching looks like

  • ensuring support does not become dependency

  • building confidence and competence.
