This half-day online course explains how pupils make meaningful progress in languages.
For all primary school teachers, this training builds on the big messages in the DPSI languages subject leadership course. It includes new information for primary subject leaders and teachers.
The course includes ideas, examples, resources and routines to use in school. It will help attendees to understand, explain and exemplify expectations and progress in languages.
Informed by the HMI subject review and current curriculum thinking, the course covers how to:
· plan meaningful learning in languages
· secure key concepts and knowledge
· identify and emphasise crucial content that helps children to get better at languages
· make sure children know more, remember more and can do more in languages.
· provides powerful examples for the DPSI subject leader PowerPoint
Attendees will come away with lots of crucial information about effective curriculum design, classroom practice and progress in languages.
